Geert De Vuyst
Geert De Vuyst is therapist and lectures on aromatic plant extracts, aromatherapy and massage therapy to therapists and health/care professionals. Geert is a member of the educational team of the Collège International d’Aromathérapie Dominique Baudoux (Enghien, Belgium) and is a guest lecturer at Vives’ Wellbeing and Vitality Management bachelor programme (Kortrijk, Belgium).
Geert holds a Master of Science in Industrial Sciences degree from Groep T (Leuven, Belgium), studied information technology at VUB (Brussels, Belgium) and spent the first part of his career working in high-tech industries in France and Belgium. Passionate about French culture, he moved in his early twenties to Toulouse, France where he lived for 11 years. In 2005 he joined the meridian shiatsu therapist training program International School Shiatsu Yoga Mediterraneo. Upon his move back to Flanders he pursued his training at Iokai Shiatsu (Paris, France). Over the years, while studying Eastern manual therapy and philosophy, Geert choose his own path. In 2016 he completed the six-day training course “Scientific medical aromatherapy” at the Collège International d’Aromathérapie Dominique Baudoux, which convinced him to specialize in the study of aromatic plant extracts.
Passionate about manual therapy and Eastern philosophy Geert builds his lectures and practice on an integrative approach, combining Chinese medicine and manual therapy (Tuina), Japanese manual therapy (Shiatsu), Western massage and the biochemistry of aromatic plant extracts.
